BRIGHTER GOVERNANCE

A platform in formation, bringing together a new generation of non-executive board leaders across sectors.

WHAT LUMEN IS.

Lumen brings together a new generation of non-executive board members and is forming a platform that connects them across sectors. At the same time, it contributes to making this field more visible, articulating perspectives that are often present, but not yet structurally heard. It enables perspectives to emerge more directly, without being mediated or defined by others.

Through intergenerational dialogue and exchange, different perspectives come together to shape more responsive and forward-thinking governance. Lumen engages both current and future non-executive leaders, recognising that new perspectives often emerge before formal positions are held. Lumen positions itself as a new voice within the governance landscape, while actively engaging with existing institutions and stakeholders.

OUR CHALLENGE.

Across Europe, our societies are navigating a series of urgent and interconnected transitions. From the climate crisis to the energy transition, from the acceleration of artificial intelligence to questions around artistic freedom and social cohesion, among others, the challenges we face are both complex and deeply intertwined. At the same time, governance often remains shaped within silos, with limited exchange across sectors and generations.

At the same time, governance often remains shaped within silos, with limited exchange across sectors and generations.
As a result, many perspectives remain unheard, while existing structures continue to age without sufficient renewal. The challenge is not only to recognise this, but to create the conditions for more meaningful exchange across sectors, across generations, and across different parts of society. In doing so, governance must remain both representative and accountable to the societies it serves.
